Press Celebrates Award-Winning Inaugural Year
Atlanta, GA (June 2002)
CEP Press has marked a successful first year as a full-service
independent publisher, with all three of their 2001 releases
receiving awards from publishing and professional associations.
The three titles have won five awards collectively.
The winning titles are: Conquering
Organizational Change: How to Succeed Where Most Companies
Fail, by Pierre Mourier and Martin Smith, Ph.D.; The
Business of Winning: A Manager's Guide to Building a Championship
Team at Work, by Robert Evangelista; and Making an
Impact: Building a Top-Performing Organization from the Bottom
Up, by Timm J. Esque.
ForeWord Magazine awarded Conquering
Organizational Change the Bronze Medal in their Fourth
Annual Book of the Year Awards. Scripps Howard News Service
calls Conquering Organizational Change a "must-read
for CEOs and their board of directors in any size business
.
It is a serious study of exactly what you need to do to take
your business from humdrum to success." The panel of
judges for the literary award consisted of book critics from
major publications and librarians.
The Business of Winning
was one of two finalists for the Independent Publisher Book
of the Year Award for Business. The Independent Publisher
Book Awards recognize excellent achievements in independent
publishing. The Business of Winning was one of over
1100 entries. "This year's Awards entries exhibited tremendous
quality and creativity," said Jim Barnes, Independent
Publisher Online managing editor and coordinator of the
Awards. "This is where the innovations in the world of
publishing are coming from."
In addition, all three releases were granted the prestigious
Award of Excellence by the International Society for Performance
Improvement. This award recognizes outstanding books that
enable individuals or organizations to achieve excellence
in workforce performance.
"First and foremost, we
congratulate our authors on their accomplishments. We are
so fortunate to be able to work with such talented individuals,"
said CEP Press Publisher Suzanne Joyce Lawlor. "We want
to be known for publishing books of lasting quality that people
can refer to year after year. These awards are a big step
towards establishing that reputation, and we plan to continue
to maintain that high level of quality."
